Thomas Huard, PhD

Thomas K. Huard, PhD, serves as Director of Laboratory Services at Doc Lab®, bringing over four decades of experience in clinical laboratory science, molecular diagnostics, and regulatory compliance. He holds a PhD and MS in Microbiology/Immunology from the University of Illinois Medical Center, and previously spent more than a decade as Scientific Director of Molecular Diagnostics at Quest Diagnostics, overseeing technical operations, new test development, and quality assurance. Dr. Huard is personally certified as a College of American Pathologists (CAP) Inspection Team Leader, holds New York State Department of Health certifications across numerous specialties, and brings regulatory expertise spanning CLIA, CAP, COLA, FDA, and AABB frameworks.

At Doc Lab, Dr. Huard directs the laboratory's technical operations and quality systems, overseeing method validation, proficiency testing, and the credentialing and training of laboratory staff across the test menu. He serves as the lab's principal liaison to regulatory and accrediting bodies, ensuring every process, from specimen handling through result reporting, meets the highest standard of compliance and scientific rigor. With more than twenty peer-reviewed publications, eight book chapters, and over fifty-five presented abstracts to his name, his depth across laboratory operations, research, and regulation underwrites the standard of accuracy Doc Lab holds itself to.
