Billing Services

Laboratory billing is complex. Proper documentation, correct coding, and understanding payer requirements are essential for appropriate reimbursement. We provide the guidance to help you get it right.

What We Are (and Aren't)

We provide billing consultation and guidance—helping you understand requirements, optimize documentation, and implement good practices.

We are not a billing company. We don’t submit claims, manage accounts receivable, or handle appeals on your behalf. For those services, you’ll need a billing company or internal billing staff.

What we offer is the POL-specific expertise to help you (or your billing team) get it right. We understand the testing, the documentation requirements, and the common pitfalls—and we share that knowledge with your practice.

Navigating Laboratory Billing

Billing for physician office laboratory testing involves its own set of challenges: correct CPT codes, proper documentation, payer-specific requirements, and the ever-present risk of denials and audits.

Many practices either under-bill (leaving reimbursement on the table) or make documentation errors that lead to denials and compliance concerns. Neither outcome is acceptable.

While Doc Lab is not a billing company, we understand the billing landscape for POL testing and can provide consultation and guidance to help your practice bill appropriately.
